Sunbonnet Sue-Circa 1940 This is a beautiful quilted square cut from a vintage Sunbonnet Sue applique quilt. She has a red bonnet and sleeves with a red dress with white, blue and green florals. Beautiful workmanship on this 60 year old collectible textile! Perfect for baby's room or to add to your country or Americana decor! Approximate SIZE-12 3/4" x 13 1/2" NOTE-Second Image is back of Quilted Square.
It would make a lovely wall hanging, framed picture or pillow top! You can finish the edges by sewing them, adding a cotton seam binding edge or if you like, use the scrappy quilt look- wash it to unravel the edging. Like all great old quilts this one is hand appliqued and quilted. There may be some light soiling, fading, a few embroidery stitches missing or worn spots- this simply ads to the vintage charm! Padding is cotton.
NOTE--My image is not very squared looking- I am just learning how to use the camera. The actual quilt square is fine! If you need another image-- just ask!
